How does it work?

Shockwave uses radial acoustic waves which carry high energy to painful spots and myoskeletal tissues with subacute and chronic conditions, causing accelerated tissue repair and cell growth, analgesia and mobility restoration.

How many treatments do I need?

Initially this depends on the problem and each individual response to treatment. Relief will often be felt after one treatment – the effect is cumulative so typically 3 to 5 treatments are needed 7 -10 days apart.

You may feel some soreness after treatment but this usually disappears within 24 hours. We ask that you refrain from doing any physical activity especially that which caused the problem in the first place within 48 hours after treatment.

We have been trialling this therapy here at Warsash Therapy Rooms and have had good results with shoulder and foot issues such as tendinitis and Plantar Fascitiis.
